Hello rpanfo95,
You are going to want a wireless router to connect to your internet providers modem. This way, you will be free from being limited from mobility because of the ethernet cord you are using now.
Any new router these days handles the standard protocol for wireless 802.11b/g/n as does your notebook and you should have no problem connecting to it. Do look for a router that includes the g/n protocals.
The newest Protocal is AC which is going to be more expensive and your laptop does not support, so there is no need to spend that much money at this time.
Depending on where the router is located in relation to where the computer will determine the strength of the connectivity.
Most routers come with software that will make the setup process easy for you to connect your computer to the router.
I have had good luck with both Netgear and Linksys wireless routers. I dont know what country you are in but I have made it a personal policy to buy from a store that I can return the device to if I have problems rather than order online. But thats personal preference.
Is this what you are asking? Let me know.
