I have a new HP Proliant ML150 Gen9 server running Windows Server 2012. I have a 1500VA UPS on it. The server is drawing about 10% of the battery capacity, so I have 50-60 minutes of backup power. The problem is, whenever I cut the AC power into the UPS (or it drops out for some reason), the server goes off and restarts. There is nothing wrong with the UPS itself. I've tested the UPS, as well as tested the server with a second 1500VA UPS. Whenever the AC power into the UPS goes out, the server drops, and then restarts. Why is this happening, and how do I fix it so the server does not restart, but keeps running? It's getting power from the battery backup in the UPS, so why is it dropping out?
